Professional and Research Interests

Chelsea will complete her master’s degree in fisheries at the University of Alaska Fairbanks in 2017. “My primary focus is conducting research on fall chum spawning habitat on the Chandalar River. I used a combination of remote sensing imagery and on-the-ground field work to identify groundwater upwellings and other habitat characteristics that influence fall chum salmon spawning site selection,” said Chelsea. Her career goal is to work as a fishery biologist in Alaska, helping protect and conserve aquatic resources for future generations.
