Meet at the Forest Service conference room upstairs.

ENS Leigh Dorsey of the Coast Guard Cutter Sycamore will present the independent research project she worked on for three years during her studies at the U.S. Coast Guard Academy. She will describe the history and current role of the Navy's Marine Mammal Program, her experience as an intern with the program, and her ideas of how a similar program could benefit the Coast Guard. Her talk will cover a wide variety of topics, from the behavior of bottlenose dolphins and California sea lions, to homeland security, to the logistics and cost considerations of starting a marine mammal program for the Coast Guard.
