The abstracts submission period has closed.
The Western Alaska Interdisciplinary Science Conference and Forum invites researchers to submit abstracts for oral or poster presentations at our WAISC 2023 conference, focusing on reuniting through shared science, arts and humanities.
We welcome abstracts related to Western Alaska from any scientific disciplinary background, whether the work is empirical or theoretical; in the following areas:
- Climate Change Influences on Environment and Society
- Natural Sciences in a Dynamic World
- Sustainable Energy
- Education in Rural Communities
- Joining Arts, Sciences and Humanities Through Togetherness
Abstracts will be peer reviewed. Acceptance will be based on content, available space, and overall program balance. Oral presentations will take place on Wednesday and Thursday, April 5 and 6, 2023.
Abstracts for oral and poster presentation are invited and should be submitted by Wednesday, March 1, using the WAISC abstract submission form. Abstracts should be no more than 250 words for oral or poster presentations and include the following information:
- Author name, title, email, and institutional affiliation
- Presentation title
- Research question, methods, data and results
Notification of proposal acceptance will be sent by March 8. Presenters must register for the conference no later than March 22 in order to confirm their place on the agenda.
