13th Western Alaskan Interdisciplinary Science Conference and Forum — Visions for the Future

In light of a new sponsorship by Alaska EPSCoR, the Call for Abstracts has been extended an additional week, through April 15.

If you plan to present a talk or a poster, register today to receive complimentary registration, available to the first 100 attendees only.


The Western Alaska Interdisciplinary Science Conference invites researchers to submit abstracts for presentation at our WAISC 2021 conference in Dillingham, Alaska. The conference will feature a wide range of exciting talks, discussions, and networking opportunities.

This is an opportunity to share your work in western Alaska with colleagues and the Bristol Bay region. We welcome abstracts related to Western Alaska from any scientific disciplinary background, whether the work is empirical or theoretical; in the following areas:

Abstracts will be peer reviewed. Acceptance will be based on content, available space, and overall program balance. Oral presentations will take place on Thursday and Friday, May 13 and 14, 2021.

Abstracts for oral and poster presentation are invited and should be submitted by Thursday, April 15, 2021, using the WAISC 2021 online abstract submission form. Abstracts should be no more than 250 words for oral or poster presentations, single spaced and include the following information:

Notification of proposal acceptance will be sent by Monday, April 12, 2021. If a proposal is accepted, the presenter must register for the conference in order to participate.
