Call for papers

The Western Alaska Interdisciplinary Science Association (WAISA) announces the 2008 Western Alaska Interdisciplinary Science Conference and Forum (WAISC) "Weathering Change, Monitoring Uncertainty," to be held April 4–6, 2008, in Dillingham, Alaska. This conference will highlight regional scientific efforts that provide a more interdisciplinary approach to scientific inquiry and resource management. Organizers welcome submissions from all individuals and organizations collecting data in western Alaska.

Sessions topics

Abstract submission

Abstracts for oral and poster presentations are invited and should be submitted via e-mail to Becky Petersen as either a PDF or Word attachment.

Abstracts should be no more than 500 words, single-spaced, and should include the following information:

  1. Author name, title, and institutional affiliation;
  2. Paper title; and
  3. Research question, relevant literature, research design and methods, data, and findings.

Notifications of proposal acceptance will be sent by March 10th, 2008. If a proposal is accepted, the presenter must register for the conference in order to participate.
