Diesel engines provide power all over Bristol Bay—for electricity, in drift gillnet fishing vessels, and on the road. At the workshop, attendees will gain basic knowledge of operation, diagnosis, and repair of diesel engines. They will also become familiar with the various engine systems and be able to apply the “systems based” method of diagnosis; and will understand the importance of safety, cleanliness, and quality of workmanship.
Lab activities will done using a real running engine - compression tests, injector tests, valve adjustment, and a thermostat check will be done using our Volvo training aid.
Cost: $20
