Description
This study shows that larval development of the golden king crab is fully lecithotrophic, which means that larvae can successfully develop to juvenile crabs without eating. The golden king crab is a commercially important species in the North Pacific and Bering Sea, which has seen a rapid increase in harvest since the early 1980s.
