Description
“Fish to schools” project leaders at the University of Alaska Fairbanks have produced a new guide to help school food buyers purchase Alaska seafood for student lunches. The information is based on recommendations from Alaska-based seafood businesses that already sell Alaska seafood to schools, or would like to in the future. School food buyers can access information on seafood suppliers, available fish species and product form, and delivery options in their region. The fish to schools program aims to enhance food security, improve diet quality in Alaska communities, and strengthen local and regional markets for sustainably harvested fish.
