Description

Do you see potential for focusing a business on an appealing attraction in Alaska? Hundreds of business operators operate successful ecotourism enterprises in Alaska by offering visitors an experience they can’t get anywhere else. This booklet provides a close look at developing an ecotourism business. It tells how to identify ecotourism opportunities nearby, recognize pros and cons of starting a business, locate business development aids, and identify needed equipment, permits, and insurance. In addition you will learn how to write a business plan, get financing, develop a marketing plan, and ensure customer satisfaction.

The handbook was published by the University of Alaska Center for Economic Development as part of an effort to support rural Alaska entrepreneurship.
