Description
According to estimates in the early 1990s, current world fisheries management would lead to a deficit in food fish by the year 2000. Fisheries scientists from around the world met in 1992 to examine current management practices and discuss strategies for improving management to preserve and/or increase output. This peer-reviewed proceedings includes papers on the role of information in the management process, harvest rate policies for single species fisheries, evaluation of management effectiveness, effects of variability and uncertainty, and socioeconomics and allocation.
