Most rewarding contributions
- Design and production of the Field Guide to Squids and Octopods. The design process for this book was a welcome challenge. A large amount and variety of information had to be placed on each page. Careful consideration was given to the font choice (Meta, one of my favorite san serifs)—it had to be readable at a small size. A lot of work was required for the photographs, as many had to be cut out from the background. Overall, this field guide was very satisfying to work on, and I’m happy with the printed piece.
- Design of the cover of Rat Control for Alaska Waterfront Facilities for which I was awarded the 2009 Gold Award for cover graphic design and 2009 Outstanding Professional Skill Award for graphic design by the 2009 Association for Communication Excellence.
