- Juvenile Production Trials 2008: Effects of diet, density, and substrate [PDF; 174 KB]
This study will test the suitability of various diets, stocking densities, and substrates using indoor rearing tanks as nurseries for mass culturing red king crab juveniles. - Techniques for larval culture of red king crab Paralithodes camtschaticus, 2008 [PDF; 164 KB]
This study will compare survivorship of Paralithodes camtschaticus through zoeal development when fed four different diets; when reared on a small scale versus a large scale in Seward, Alaska; and when reared on a small scale in Seward versus a small scale in Kodiak, Alaska
2007
- Kodiak Field Work Summary, Fall 2007 [PDF, 60 KB]
This study will investigate effects of stocking density on small and large scales with modifications to water flow, water filtration, and tank aeration to improve larval survival. Habitat surveys will be conducted to identify habitat preferences of juvenile red king crab.
