- Dialogue sought on North Aleutian Basin oil and gas development (01/23/08) The North Aleutians Basin Energy-Fisheries workshop will take place March 18–19 at the Anchorage Marriot Downtown Hotel. The public meeting seeks insights into the economic, social, and environmental questions that must be addressed to make energy development environmentally safe as well as socially and economically beneficial for the region's residents.
- Stakeholders talk energy and fishing in North Aleutian Basin (11/5/07) Interested energy companies, fishermen, Alaska Natives, community leaders, environmentalists and others met October 19, 2007, to begin a dialogue on energy development in the North Aleutian Basin off Alaska. The meeting was aimed at developing an agenda for a larger public meeting scheduled for March 2008 in Anchorage.
- UAF, Bodø University create forum for dialogue between North Aleutian stakeholders on fisheries and offshore energy development (10/9/07) The University of Alaska Fairbanks and Norway's Bodø University announced today an initiative to open a dialogue between offshore oil and gas interests and fisheries stakeholders in Alaska's North Aleutian Basin Planning Area, a 5.6-million-acre region that encompasses most of the southeastern Bering Sea continental shelf and Bristol Bay.
