Optional Fish-Related Training Opportunities

USCG-Certified Drill Conductor Course

Alaska Marine Safety Education Association. This 10-hour practical, hands on course meets the USCG safety training requirements for commercial fishermen operating documented vessels operating beyond the Boundary Line.

Class is available at no charge for commercial fishermen, and space is limited. Advance registration is required. Call 907-747-3287 and on the web at www.amsea.org

Alaska Fishing Business Success: A Deeper Look

Sponsored for AYFS attendees by the Commercial Fishing and Agriculture Bank, this half-day course covers questions to ask before joining a board, board member roles and responsibilities, how to effectively participate in the non-profit verse advocacy world – all within the context of boards commercial fishermen need to join to strengthen business and community ties.
