Pebble Mine and Salmon: The Science Behind the Controversy

The proposed Pebble Mine is a controversial project because it poses a risk to valuable subsistence, commercial and sport fisheries in Bristol Bay. The copper-gold-molybdenum mine would be constructed on state land draining into the Nushagak and Kvichak watersheds, which together have produced over 60% of all salmon harvested from the Bay. Come and hear what the proposed mine’s impact might be on surrounding lands.
