The Authors

Jerry Dzugan is director of the Alaska Marine Safety Education Association (AMSEA) and is a boating safety trainer. He has also been a commercial fisherman, charterboat operator, emergency medical services instructor, and sailboat skipper. Dzugan has earned safety awards from the Alaska Safety Advisory Council, National Safe Boating Council, National Safety Council, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, and the U.S. Marine Safety Association.

Susan Clark Jensen is a boating safety trainer, has served as an emergency medical services instructor and coordinator, and is a veteran skipper of many kinds of boats.
