Prerecruit walleye pollock are important in the diet of seabirds such as murres and black-legged kittiwakes during nesting season at St. Matthew Island, the Pribilof Islands, Bogoslof and the Near Islands in the Aleutians, Cape Peirce and Cape Newenham in Bristol Bay, and other sites.
