Description
Meiofauna are mobile benthic invertebrates between 0.5 mm and 0.045 mm. In this study, nematodes and harpacticoid copepods predominated among meiofauna sampled throughout the year in Auke Bay, Alaska. Densities of adults, ovigerous females, and copepodites changed with the season, with the peak densities of ovigerous females and copepodites in November and March. Reproductive patterns were also studied. The report contributes to the scarce ecological information on subarctic meiofaunal communities. Marine Ecology Progress Series 133:115-124, 1996.
