Description
A management goal for the commercially important red king crab is to protect newly matured males from the fishery to allow them a chance to breed. The objective of this study was to provide data on carapace and chela allometry of individual males known to be mature, and to test for changes in ratios of chela height to carapace length after molting. This growth information is useful because it reports the magnitude of changes in chela allometry that can occur in individuals. Alaska Fishery Research Bulletin 2(2):164-167, 1995.
