Description
The authors used statistical correlation and multivariate clustering methods to find that large year classes occur synchronously among several Pacific herring populations. They also found that Bering Sea populations are distinct from northeast Pacific populations. Prince William Sound herring did not show strong deviations corresponding to the 1989 oil spill.
